Rental Credit Program at Day Violins

Day Violins was one of the first shops to introduce the Rental Credit Program.

Are you wondering what that is? The Rental Credit Program provides you credit towards the purchase of a new instrument when your musical journey requires you to have something of your own. The most amazing thing about the Rental Program with Day Violins is that you are not renting to own.  The instrument you start with will not be the instrument you end up with.

There are several reasons for this.

The first one is that your student is going to grow.  Children who start in elementary school and continue to play through high school will usually go through three sizes before they reach the point where they need a full size. Size-ups are always free at Day Violins, so as your child sizes-up, they will return the instrument you first rented and receive another size.
This is the biggest reason we do not do a “rent-to-own” program.

Second, your student will improve their playing ability as they continue to study and learn.  Music becomes harder to play.  Advanced techniques require a nicer instrument that will respond as the student plays. Our student rentals are very high quality, however, there is something about picking up an instrument and having it speak to you.  When you are looking to purchase the instrument that is uniquely suited for your needs and meets your level of playability you have the option to utilize the rental credit purchase to select the best instrument for you.

Wondering how the Day Violins Rental Credit Program works?

1. Your base rental accumulates as credit toward a purchase.  What does that mean?  It means that 100% of the base rent you pay for your first twelve months, plus 50% of your base rent for the life of the rental goes toward the purchase of any instrument in our shop. That’s right.  Any instrument that is the like-type of what your student is playing.
2. When you are ready to purchase an instrument, you merely make an appointment with Jason Day and come in and try out several instruments in your price range. Bows and cases are also available as part of the outfit.

One of the most important things to remember when it comes to the rental credit program with Day Violins is that we want your student to be successful as a musician, no matter how long their journey is.  Some students only play one year, while some realize they want to play through high school, and even college. This is why we offer several levels of step-up instruments. We will work with your budget and even offer payment plans.

Things to be aware of:

-Per state and federal laws, taxes are not included in the base rental credit, nor is the maintenance program fees.
-Rental credit expires after 30 days upon return of your instruments.  If you know your child is going to play the next year, please keep renting over the summer months and have them continue to practice.  Check out our small group or private lesson options and we can direct you toward summer music camps as well.
