School starts mid-August, and we know how busy your lives are going to be. That’s why we make it easy for our back-to-school music students and parents! At Day Violins, we’re fully stocked and ready to help you find the right instrument without delays, long waitlists, or confusing online hoops to jump through.

- Review our monthly pricing and the Strings to Scroll Maintenance Plan.
- Verify the instrument size you will need for your student player. If you need help with a proper fitting just stop by the shop and we can help.
- Come into our shop OR head to our online rental portal. If you choose “In store pickup.” We’ll prepare your instrument kit and you can pick up your rental instrument at your convenience.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
String instruments come in various sizes to accommodate players of different ages and physical attributes. Day Violins sized each instrument personally for your student. No guessing involved.
Different brands of instruments will fit differently in your child’s hands even though they are the same size. You always want to try out two or three different instruments to see if your child notices a difference.

Yes! We strongly encourage every student renter to purchase the String to Scroll Maintenance Plan – a comprehensive instrument coverage offered by Day Violins.
The Rental Credit Program provides you credit towards the purchase of a new instrument when your musical journey requires you to have something of your own. The most amazing thing about the Rental Program with Day Violins is that you are not renting to own. The instrument you start with will not be the instrument you end up with.

3 Things Day Violins does to give you a Premier Rental Experience
Experience 1: Rental credit starts accruing from day one of your Day Violins rental! Rental credit is the base rate of the rental (before maintenance plan costs and sales taxes is applied.) That credit accrues at 100% for the first twelve months you rent and 50% of that amount any year after that. This gives you the time and flexibility to see if your young musician will continue their musical journey.
Experience 2: We’re transparent and trusted. We all love to get a great deal but be careful! Day Violins doesn’t have any rental gimmicks like introductory rates or fees for size-ups or to return your instrument before the end of the school year. We’re transparent about our rental policies, offer the best maintenance program around, provide free size-ups as your child grows, and have a robust lesson program with amazing teachers.
Experience 3: Quality counts. Poorly made instruments are often not set up properly to play, can ruin your student’s experience, and end up on our workbenches to be fixed. Our rentals are serviced with a comprehensive 30+ point checklist before they ever leave our shop!
